Frequently asked questions.

What kind of church is Fellowship 42?

Fellowship 42 is a non-denominational, Bible-believing church located in Lone Jack, Missouri. We're committed to living out the early church model found in Acts 2:42—devoted to teaching, fellowship, prayer, and breaking bread together.

What does the name “Fellowship 42” mean?

Our name comes from Acts 2:42, where the early church devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. That’s our foundation and our mission.

What do you believe?

In short:

  • The Bible is God’s inspired Word and our final authority.

  • Jesus Christ is the Son of God—fully God, fully man—who died for our sins and rose again.

  • Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus alone.

  • The Holy Spirit empowers believers for godly living and service.

  • The Church is made up of all who trust in Christ, and we are united as His body.

Do you have membership? How do I become a member?

Yes! Membership at Fellowship 42 is open to those who:

  1. Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

  2. Have been baptized by immersion.

  3. Affirm our church covenant from Acts 2:42–47.

  4. Publicly affirm their commitment before the church.

How is the church led?

Fellowship 42 is led by a Board of Elders, in accordance with biblical qualifications (1 Timothy 3:1–7). We also have Deacons who serve in various ministry areas, and Church Officers who help manage operations.

What ordinances do you observe?

We observe two biblical ordinances:

  • Baptism by immersion – as a public testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.

  • The Lord’s Supper – as a memorial of Christ’s sacrifice, shared regularly in worship.

Is the church part of a denomination or larger organization?

No, Fellowship 42 is autonomous. We govern our own affairs under the authority of Scripture and through our local leadership.

What is your mission as a church?

Our purpose is to glorify God by being fully devoted to Him and to one another. That includes:

  • Teaching God's Word

  • Fellowship and unity

  • Prayer and worship

  • Generosity and service

  • Reaching the community with the love of Christ
